Novovirus Deep Clean

There are many areas in care homes that become easily contaminated with micro-organisms.

Keeping a high standard of environmental cleanliness is important in care homes for the safety and protection of its residents who are vulnerable to infections. Following COVID-19, more frequent cleaning is carried out on areas with high use/traffic, at least twice a day and up to two hourly where appropriate with 1000oon chorline based solution.

Staff Training

Staff training and development is a core activity in any area involved in the cleaning service, therefore, we have developed a structured approach to training where training programmes are systematically applied and evaluated regularly to ensure that they meet the needs of the service. Ongoing training programmes are in place – including cleaning methods, the use of equipment and PPE.

All housekeeping staff are required to complete Infection Control and Covid-19 E learning on an annual basis. Effective record management allows us to provide and maintain external stakeholders with key documentation, ensuring that we are acting in accordance with legal requirements.

Colour coding is adopted in order to improve the safety of care home cleaning, ensure consistency and provide clarity to our staff.  Therefore, reducing the risk of cross infection.
