The Forgotten Ones – How We are Serving At Home Care Requirements
For over 10 years we have worked primarily in the care and education sectors, implementing a nutritional and catering strategy developed by our expert nutritionists that is proven to improve the physical and mental wellbeing of its residents and students.
Over these years we have grown into becoming the only dedicated provider of deliciously nutritious consultancy catering and housekeeping solutions in the Senior Living and Child Care sectors in Scotland, including a specialist dementia service. We also provide a dedicated food delivery service from our Scottish suppliers, delivering fresh raw ingredients daily.
However, we have found a gap in Scottish care provision that has only been widened by the recent pandemic. This gap is those whom require further care either due to age, illness, mobility or following hospital discharge. The support available here is limited and at times hard to get.
What Can Be Done
In our experience in the third sector we have found that there are many who could benefit from the type of professional care and nutritional services we provide to care homes and similar facilities, but don’t have direct access to it. To achieve real improvements in health, mobility and, generally, independence, nutrition is the vital area of care where we believe Cedar Revive can help greatly!
Over the years we have seen incredible results and turnarounds from:
- Mental sharpness and health
- Anaemia
- Coeliac Disease
- Diabetes
- Digestive Problems – IBS, IBD, constipation etc.
- Food Allergies and Intolerances
And many more!
Simply put; We believe it’s is our obligation to spread our knowledge to as wide an audience as possible, because some small changes to what we eat and don’t eat could make massive changes to our quality and personal dignity in life.
So individuals and families can now benefit from our nutritional knowledge and meal service using our ‘Good Food at Home Wizard’!
The ‘Good Food at Home Wizard’
This service begins with an initial free consultation, before proceeding with a full assessment with our in-house dietitian and careful menu planning thereafter. It is designed to help and support the following groups (although available to all):
- Residents within social or sheltered housing.
- Those recently discharged from hospital.
- Those with cognitive disease or difficulty not severe enough for full time care.
- Those with Anaemia.
- Those with digestive problems – IBS, IBD constipation or other.
- Those with food allergies and intolerances.
- Those with digestive issues.
Our message to individuals and families is: don’t suffer in silence. Small improvements can mean a lot, and with every inch more of independence one can enjoy, we can live with less stress and more dignity!
